Fifty years ago, major cities in the US had a large and powerful Catholic population. In Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago, there was a large Catholic school system staffed by priests and nuns. Parish churches in every neighborhood, and often multiple churches close together to serve different groups (e.g. Polish, Italian, Irish). Every church had at least two priests, and often more. Seminaries in every city, sometimes a few, packed with aspiring future priests.

I think the best naturalistic explanation is a (perhaps nearly) infinite multiverse. This is the explanation that many scientists adhere to. This would allow such a remarkably universe like ours to have existed by chance. However, I think this "best naturalistic explanation" falls short, and that our universe does not seem to be something that happened by chance.

Perhaps you should consider that you see what you want to see. I reprimand as many Atheists as Christians in any given day, and if you look at the resolution channel you will see that just as many Atheists claim that we play favorites with the believers. There are plenty of Christians voicing their opinions on some of the other OP's.

Well, my own view is that religion or the lack thereof is not what causes violence, but people, immature people do that, whether they be religious or not. No way I am letting a religious person get away with claiming his religion made him do it, or an atheist claim that his lack of religion made him do it or something. They did it, they are responsible. Righteous people go after them. We do not blame every other person who shares the same religious belief or something.
